SpellDoctor Installation
Choose one of the following:
- Option 1: This installation includes the SpellDoctor Word Template. You must have Microsoft Word for Windows on your computer to use this template. If you don't have Word, or don't need the Template, please select Option 2. (Note: If you don't use the Template, the student's spelling errors will still be captured from sentence writing performed within the lessons.)
- Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, or XP: click here.
- Windows Vista: click here.
- Option 2: This installation does not include the SpellDoctor Word Template. The student's spelling errors will be captured from sentence writing performed within the lessons only. Click here for this installation option.
Using the SpellDoctor Word Template
- If you have Word 2000 or 2003: At the desktop, open the new SpellDoctor Word Template icon. In the first window, click the box labeled Always trust macros from this source. Then click Enable Macros.
If you have Word 2007: At the desktop, open the new SpellDoctor Word Template icon. In the first dialogue box, click OK. Next click the Options... button at the upper left of the document window. In the new dialogue box click the 3rd button down labeled Trust all documents from this publisher. - Check your screen resolution. SpellDoctor works best at a resolution of 1024 X 768 or higher. On a blank area of your Windows desktop, right click and select Properties. Click the Settings tab. Check that your screen resolution is at least 1024 X 768. If it is, no action is needed. If it is not, move the pointer to right to achieve this setting. Click Apply, (the screen may go dark for a few seconds). Click Yes and OK. The screen resolution will reset. If your monitor does not support 1024 X 768, choose the highest available resolution.
